Had to replace this battery after just over a year. Should last longer than that?

SPORTSMITH Response: CAUTION: If machine is idle for any extended periods of time, it may slowly discharge the battery. You may prolong the battery life by using an external charger.

When my long unused Lifecylce wouldn't start a websearch brought me to Sportsmith for a replacement battery at a reasonable price. Both availability and price were a pleasant suprise given the age of the Lifecycle [...] easy instructions were a bonus
