Stairmaster stepper drive hub assembly includes:

  • Hub with Needle Bearings and Grease Fitting
  • Right Drive Sprocket with Clutch Bearing
  • Left Drive Sprocket with Clutch Bearing
  • Drive Shaft with Sprocket
  • (4) Thrust Bearings
  • (8) Thrust Washers
  • Snap Ring

Maintenance

It�s recommended the hub assembly be lubricated every 3 months or 900 hours (whichever comes first) using heavy, multi-purpose grease.

How It Works

Pedal movement translated by the step chains rotating the clutch bearing drive sprockets keeps the hub assembly�s output constant.
The output translated by the drive chain turns the transmission.

I bought this product for our Stairmaster, which all of a sudden had a pedal that would drop with every step making it unusable. I did some research online and figured this was the part I needed. It was half the price here than anywhere else, arrived in record time and works just great!Our Stairmaster works like new and Sportsmith was wonderful to work with. My only advice would be to order the suggested tool to go with it or buy a similar one to take the old Hub off as that was difficult.

Drive hub is the mechanism that adds the steps of a stairmaster into a continuously turning shaft that then turns the alternator. I replaced mine becasue it was skipping - the steps on both sides were jumping down. The device contains one way bearings that were worn. Sportsmith's price was about half that of others. Easy to replace and fixed the problem.
