Comments about Resistor Load (Ceramic) without Wire:
I have owned a Stairmaster 4200PT since 1999. I've had to replace belts from time to time but have never had a mechanical issue until recently. I came to Sportsmith and found several videos that helped me get a much better idea of what might be the problem. I initially thought the alternator had gone bad but after some checking, following what I'd seen in the videos, I realized the problem was more likely the resistor. I ordered a new resistor and thankfully that turned out to be the problem.
The ONLY issue I had with the new resistor was that it wasn't the same size as the original one. I had to bend the metal at the ends a little to get the screw holes to line up. Once I had it hooked up, I stepped onto the machine and was relieved to find that it worked perfectly.
