Some units require a jumper when replacing the overlay/keypad. Without the jumper, these units experience reversed elevation. When "up" is pressed, unit goes down and vice versa. Be sure when replacing your overlay/keypad you check for the jumper, and remove and discard it. You do NOT need to re-install the jumper with new SPORTSMITH overlay/keypad.

The keypad on our older 400T began to fail ... I was able to remove just the membrane keys and replace them with this unit. Same buttons and pin-out. I did modify the metal back plate to allow for the cable on this one to extend thru (top vs. side), but pretty straight forward. SportSmith was great on the order and shipping.

Straightforward installation but guide says no tools required. Needed knife and pliers to pull up old strip. Had to remove two layers of old material. Needed screwdriver to remove back plate to get to plug. Needed small wrench for grounding, I think. Took 3x as long as instructions said to install. Would update instruction; put 15 minutes as install time and suggest tools. Otherwise good.

I like so much.
