Special Wedge Pin Not Included #@##

Comments about Right Crank Arm | Wedge Pin Style | Schwinn:

This will not install without a special Shwinnn wedge pin. Why not include a new wedge pin with the crank? I had to run all over town to find a pin. What a pain!!

SPORTSMITH Response: We do not sell the crank arm and the wedge pin together, but we do have the wedge pin as a related item on the crank arm page as a recommendation or reminder that you may need to order one for the crank arm.

Bought this for my schwinn airdyne. Work just like the original. You have to know how to put this on but can be figured out in a min or two.

Not an OEM part but it works all the same and the price is right. Make sure you remove the washers an lubricate the contact point with ball bearing grease or similar during install or it will not seat correctly.

Comments about Right Crank Arm | Wedge Pin Style | Schwinn:

I read the previous comments. The crankarms need to be installed with the pin inserted from the opposite direction of the arm on the other side otherwise they will be off by about 20 degrees- this is not a manufacturing problem- it is an installation problem. I service Airdynes exclusively and I have never had to grind or drill an arm to put it on- so I have no idea what the second review is about. I wish the quality was better but that all fits with the price.

The fit of the crank arm to the chain sprocket is about 20 degrees off when the wedge is installed. This is the second one that I have bought as a replacement for the original and both have ended up less than 180 degrees across from the OEM left crank arm.

SPORTSMITH Response: We have contacted the customer to offer new crank arms. We do stand behind our products and encourage customers to make us aware of any problems they are having with our products. Our stock has been quality inspected and is good stock.
